Containers

Our cartons are made of FSC cardboard.

Do you know what this seal means?

It’s very simple. The paper comes from forests that managed in a responsible manner, both environmentally and socially.

Thanks to this seal, ATO can guarantee that the cardboard used in its cartons comes from forests that respect the fauna, flora and their communities.

100% RECYCLABLE CONTAINERS

A second life for our bottles.

Where does caring for the planet start? One very simple gesture occurs to us: Recycle! Are you one of those who recycles?

Our bottle containers are 100% recyclable. Just place the container and the grouping film into the yellow container. In an exercise of transparency, ATO would like you to know that the aluminium cover and the handle cannot be recycled in the current process.

Another step forward has been in ATO’s commitment to sustainability; all grouping films are manufactured using 50% recycled materials. This action contributes to the circular economy by minimising the consumption of resources.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY

ATO is committed to the planet from the beginning to the end of the chain. ATO farms know how important it is to move towards a more sustainable model, which is why they work on a circular economy model.

Here are the practices implemented by some of them:

Solar energy

The Mas Bes and Mas La Coromina farms are implementing solar panels to supply electricity to their farms and visitor areas.
Mas Bes has already installed 300 solar panels on the roof of the barn, an area that receives the most hours of sunlight.

Water use

Mas La Coromina reuses water in a part of its process, in order to save this valuable resource. The water that is used to cool the milk is heated through a plate exchanger and is used to clean and disinfect the milking shed.

Composting

Mas La Coromina opts for the traditional system of warm beds for its cows to rest on. This method enables them to obtain compost, which is used in crop soils, obtaining the highest quality forage for feeding the cows.

Biogas Plant - Sustainable Energy

The Mas Bes farm, thanks to the manure from its cows, uses methane gas to produce electricity, which is then used for self-consumption, for example to recharge its electric car.
The outgoing composting of the biogas plant is also ideal for fields, orchards and gardening.

ORGANIC PRODUCTION

We know that organic production is based on techniques that respect the environment, animals and people, restricting the use of chemical products (herbicides, pesticides, etc.) and respecting the needs of animals.

ATO Mas La Coromina farm has thus been converted into an organic farm.
